How to Use Exponents

Whatever the number is, say 2 for instance, and the exponent is 3 you would times 2 times 2 times 2, three times. You may know exponents as power, like two to the fifth power.

What Exponents Are and What Their Used For

Exponents are usually used for big numbers. There a shorthand of multiplication. The exponent is the times the base is being multiplied. The base is the big number ,the number your timing.

How To Simplify Exponents

To Simplify an exponent you just count the number of the number being multiply. For example, x3=(xxx).

Mistakes

People make many mistakes on finding the answer to exponets. Many people times the base and the exponent togather. Or people times the base by the exponent then add or add sumthing to it.

As your classmates have commented, you need more information. You also need to figure out how to use superscript so that we can see the exponents next to the numbers. Sometimes we use the carat character 2^3 = 2*2*2=8.
