Dividing Decimals

 Dividing Decimals

Dividing decimals may seem hard but after you get to know how to do

it, it gets

 really easy!

Dividing Decimals is just the same as normal dividing.

example: .35÷.7

When you divide decimals you must move the decimal as many times as you need to to make the decimal outside of the

divsion sign a whole

number.

.35/.7→ 3.5 →35/.7

After you do that you have to move the number inside of the division sign the same amount as you moved the decimal

 outside.

(no matter if it

is a decimal or not) If the

number is not a decimal or has less decimal spaces than needed, add as many zeros as you need.

 35/.7 → 35/7 → 35/70

After you do that step the rest is easy. All you have to do now is divide the whole numbers that are left in the division

 problem.

 35/70=2

Was that easy?. . .

let's try something a little more complicated!

.0005÷.2

here's your equation

.0005→.005/.2→2

move the decimal places 2 times to the right

.005/2

you end up with this

.05→.5/2→20

if it turned into a whole  number already add zeros to the ends of the numbers, but if not, move it to the right once more

.5→5/20

you end up with this, solve it!

5/20=.25

the solution is easy!

Your page looks good. I like it way more then mine.

The font spacnig problem makes your page difficult to read. What are the funny numbers trying to show? Is that a multiplication or division problem? Your first example gives the wrong answer. .35 / .7 = .5, not 2.
