Angles

Angles

Angle: The figure formed by two lines diverging from a

 common point.

There are three types of angles, acute, right, and

 obtuse angle.

Acute: An angle that measures less than 90 degrees.

Right: An angle that measures exactly 90 degrees.

Obtuse: An angle that is more than 90 degrees but less

than 180 degrees.

Vertices: the point farthest from the base

Example: the tip of a pyramid

How to measure angles on a

 protracter?

First you put where the lines intersect on the

hole at the bottom, Then you line up the line

going up and look at the number that it lines up

with, and thats the degrees of the angle and if

its below 90 degrees its acute, if its above 90

degrees but lower than 180 degrees its

obtuse,and if its 90 degrees

its a right angle.

Congruent Angles:An angle that are the

same shape and the same size.

Vertical Angles:Two angles formed by two intersecting lines and lying on opposite sides of the

point of intersection.

Supplementary Angles: Are two angles

that and up to 180 degrees.

all my definitions came from here

Complementary Angles: Two angles that add up to 90 degrees.

Straight line equals exactly 180 degrees

I have some suggestions just in case you've run out of things to explain...? D:

-Add info about vertices
-Why some angles have a round thingie instead of a square thingie where the 2 ends meet xD
-How to measure angles on the protractor
-Maybe some ways you can use angles in real life. What jobs need to know how to measure these?

If you already had these in mind, okay then :] Just giving ideas. Great start, though!

A fine page, but some formating problems. I would have liked to see more about vertices, that seems incomplete. Your description of how to use a protactor is also incomplete, a picture would have been helpful.
