Addition
Addition is the sum of two numbers to equal a solution. Example:
3 + 4 + 2 = 9
7 + 2 = 9 The sum of 3 and 4 is 7 plus 2 = 9.
Another way is:
2 + 3 + 4 = 9
5 + 4 = 9 The sum of 2 and 3 is 5 plus 4 = 9.
When adding with remainders add the ones. Example:
1
25 The sum of 5 and 7 in the ones place is 2 carrying the one over to the tens place.
+ 47 The sum of 1, 3, and 4 in the tens place is 7 .
72
The 1 is added in the tens place because it has a higher place value. All you have to do is add the ones to the tens place.

You might want to do some research to see how other people have descibed addition. Addition is easy for you, but if somebody is looking addition up in an encyclopedia, or wikipedia it is because they want help. How will you help your audience to understand addition?
